Google CAPTCHA, List #2

WRITING EXERCISE:

EASY -- Use ten of these words in a short story, poem, or other comment.
HARD -- Use all of these words in a short story or essay.

Though difficult, really, this list provides everything from character names, locations, vices, nouns, atmosphere, slang....  I am yet amazed at the variety and potential inherent meaning to so many of these "words."

  1. Wow, that would take way too long. You should use them in one of your novels.

  2. I would need to be a little more selective. Some of them are just ridiculous.

Have you read "A Clockwork Orange"? I can't say that I recommend it. It's perhaps the darkest thing I've ever read, but the language usage and "abusage" are absolutely brilliant.

  3. Ummm.....First I'd need a translator. Did Jacob write those words? :) And with that, I have now commented on your blog. :)

  4. Hi! Good to see you!

The words are just funny, I think. So many of them could actually mean something if they were just put into use.

  5. They could, and it's way better than the current trend in English, which is just to take corporate brand names and apply them to the verb with which they're associated. **facepalm** The whole concept is complete untroff, I tell you!

  6. I am so naturally entrenched in what is "right" that I didn't even notice right away your ascription of usage to "umptroff," and simply read it as "run-off," which actually works in this context as well!

And how this applies to the Humpty Dumpty chapter!
